The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (Masen) has selected a consortium of France’s EdF, Abu Dhabi’s Masdar and local venture Green of Africa to develop the world’s first hybrid power plant of solar PV and concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies.

Masen estimates the cost of the development at MD7.57bn ($780mn). Spain’s TSK will design and build the plant, which will have a total installed capacity of 800MW and a minimum five hours of electricity storage to enable electricity supply to the grid after sunset. (CONTINUED - 751 WORDS)
