David Knott
David Knott writes mainly about the refining & petrochemicals and power & water sectors and in particular those in the Gulf region and Egypt. This involves reporting and analysis of developments and strategies within these sectors, as well as their impact on the broader energy industry, on both a national and regional basis. He has been writing about the energy industry for 40 years, with most of his experience involving the Mena region after he joined MEES in January 2000. Previously he reported for eight years on developments across the petroleum sector in Europe for the Oil & Gas Journal. He holds a B.Sc in electrical engineering and worked for two years as an engineer for military contractors before moving into journalism with a role as a reporter for a UK electrical industry publication in 1980.
