Saudi Arabia’s 2GW Taiba 2 gas-fired power plant has been connected to the grid, marking a major milestone ahead of full commercial operation. The highly efficient CCGT power plant is being developed by a consortium of EDF, Al Jomaih Energy & Water, and Buhur under a power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) in 2023 (MEES, 3 November 2023).
