Egypt has completed work on its side for the 3GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) electricity interconnector with Saudi Arabia, leaving only limited work and technical testing in the kingdom before commercial operations can begin.

Electricity minister Mahmoud Esmat said on 28 September that the Egyptian portion of the project is now fully complete, while “a small part” of the work remains on the Saudi side. (CONTINUED - 176 WORDS)
