Adnoc has taken a final investment decision (FID) on the $6.2bn Umm Shaif Gas Cap project. The project will add more than 600mn cfd of gas output alongside high-value condensates. In the 21 July announcement, it said that first gas is expected by 2030.

Umm Shaif, which began producing more than sixty years ago, is one of the UAE’s oldest offshore oil fields (MEES, 29 June 1962). The Umm Shaif & Lulu concession was awarded to Adnoc (60%), TotalEnergies (20%), Eni (10%) and China’s CNPC (10%) in 2018 (MEES, 23 March 2018). (CONTINUED - 719 WORDS)
