Global refined products markets are facing potential supply shocks. At the frontline, states in the Gulf are fending off repeated Iranian attacks targeting their refineries in the Arabian Peninsula, while refineries inside the Strait of Hormuz have been shut off from their customers.

On 2 March, debris from an intercepted Iranian drone hit Saudi Aramco’s 550,000 b/d Ras Tanura refinery, the kingdom’s largest, causing the firm to halt its operations as a precaution.
