Norway’s DNO is poised to begin production from its Baeshiqa field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq next quarter. Baeshiqa will be the first new field to come online since Chevron and Genel brought Sarta into production in late 2020 (MEES, 27 November 2020).

DNO completed its acquisition of ExxonMobil’s stake in Baeshiqa (DNO 64%op, TEC 16%, KRG 20%) in August and immediately declared commerciality (MEES, 6 August 2021). The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) approved the field development plan (FDP) in December, and DNO is now working to deliver early production from previously drilled but suspended discovery wells.
