Italy 2020 Crude Imports: Iraq Pipped For Top Spot As Saudi Surges To No.3

*Italy’s crude import volumes fell by 21% to just 1.01mn b/d for 2020, a multi-decade low (see table).

*In contrast to Turkey where Iraq supplied a record 229,000 b/d to take top spot for 2020 (MEES, 12 March), Iraq lost top spot in Italy. From 2019’s record 253,000 b/d, volumes fell 31% to 174,000 b/d for 2020 (see chart).
