China imported an average of 5.20mn b/d of crude and condensate from Middle East countries for the first nine months of 2021. This puts volumes on track to beat the annual record of 5.08mn b/d set last year, even as China’s overall imports slumped by 6% to 10.41mn b/d for 9M 2021 (see table for full data).
