After years of delays, Iraq is once again pursuing its petchems dreams. Oil minister Ihsan Ismaeel this week confirmed ongoing talks between Shell and the ministry over the planned 1.8mn t/y Nebras petrochemicals complex at Basra.

“Talks have intensified in recent days. Shell has agreed to accelerate the required procedures, to overcome all difficulties, and to complete the contractual and legal procedures with the concerned parties before the end of this year,” the ministry says. (CONTINUED - 751 WORDS)
