Egypt was a net exporte of refined products to the tune of 16,000 b/d for Q1, the first time this has been the case in Jodi data stretching back to 2002 and likely well before this. February set the monthly record with net exports of 69,000 b/d (MEES, 24 April).

Jet fuel exports of 42,000 b/d for Q1 and 46,000 b/d for March were the highest respective quarterly and monthly figures on record. Egypt remains a net importer of gasoline but the volumes have shrunk dramatically from an average of 60,000 b/d for 2018 and the first nine months of 2019 to 44,000 bd for Q4 2019, 23,000 b/d for Q1 2020 and just 16,000 b/d for March (see chart).
