Dubai is starting out on its largest solar power project to date, under a plan that recently got bigger. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has poured concrete for a fourth nuclear reactor, as Dubai is expecting bids for a coal-fired plant.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is seeking expressions of interest for 800MW of solar power capacity. This will comprise phase-2 of the 3GW Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktum Solar Park, which is being developed 50km south of Dubai city at Seih al-Dahal. (CONTINUED - 873 WORDS)
