The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (Masen) has awarded two solar power projects with a combined capacity of 350MW to a consortium of Saudi firm ACWA Power and Spain’s Sener. The Noor 2 and Noor 3 projects will be built alongside the 160MW Noor 1 concentrated solar power (CSP) plant, currently under construction by ACWA and Sener at Ouarzazate (see map).

Sener will undertake the engineering, construction and commissioning of Noor 2 and Noor 3. Noor 2, like Noor 1, will incorporate Sener’s proprietary parabolic trough technology and will have an installed capacity of 200MW. Noor 3 will comprise a central CSP tower and an array of heliostats, with total output capacity of 150MW. (CONTINUED - 515 WORDS)
