State-owned Oman Oil Company (OOC) has named ‘Isam al-Zadjali as its new chief executive officer. He takes over from Ahmad al-Wahaibi, who in March of this year was sentenced to 23 years in prison for a string of offences, including taking bribes and money laundering.

Mr Zadjali joins OOC with more than two decades of experience in the oil and gas sector, having previously worked for US independent Occidental (Oxy) and Oman’s Ministry of Oil and Gas. He served as President and General Manager of Oxy Oman between 2009 and 2014, before being promoted to Senior Vice President for Business Development, for the Middle East and North Africa region.
