The weeks leading up to the 13-14 January ‘Libya Energy & Economic Summit’ in Tripoli were characterized by heavy rumors that the conference would see a consortium led by Italy’s Eni with TotalEnergies and UAE state firm Adnoc sign up to develop around 3tcf of gas reserves on block NC-7 in the Ghadames basin at the cost of $4-5bn (MEES, 22 December 2023).
