In the latest episode of the battle for control of Libya’s oil sector, the Tripoli-based Ministry of Oil and Gas issued a statement on 15 December condemning the terms of a planned gas development contract between NOC and an Eni-led consortium, describing the deal as a “violation of Libyan legislation on oil contracts.”

The Ministry was referring to NOC plans to award a $4-5bn contract to develop 2.7tcf gas reserves on the NC-7 block in the Ghadames basin to a consortium grouping Eni with TotalEnergies and UAE state firm Adnoc (MEES, 1 December). (CONTINUED - 1150 WORDS)
