Crescent Petroleum has activated its contracts to develop three upstream assets in Iraq, targeting expedited development. The three blocks were awarded to the Sharjah-based firm in Iraq’s 2018 fifth licensing round (LR5), but Iraq’s bureaucracy and political volatility meant that the contracts were only ratified in February (MEES, 24 February).

The three assets are the Khashim al-Ahmar/Injana and Gilabat-Qamar fields in Diyala province, and the Khider al-Mai exploration block in Basra (see map). (CONTINUED - 859 WORDS)
