Israel’s long-awaited interministerial gas review has recommended that 440bcm of the country’s gas reserves be reserved for domestic consumption, in line with previous expectations (MEES, 12 June). Energy Ministry Director General Yossi Dayan chaired the latest interministerial gas-policy review, launched in 2024 under a process first established by the Zemach Committee in 2011-12 and last revisited in 2019.
The 440bcm figure is essentially the 500bcm requirement set in 2019 less the roughly 60bcm that has since been consumed domestically. (CONTINUED - 739 WORDS)
