The Tunisian government has concluded a $430mn financing agreement with the World Bank to support its energy sector modernization and expand its renewable energy capacity, the international lender announced on 11 November.

Under the five-year Tunisia Energy Reliability, Efficiency, and Governance Improvement Program (TEREG), the World Bank will help the country carry out energy sector reforms and take further steps towards achieving its clean energy strategy, under which it aims to increase renewable energy to 35% of total energy consumption by 2030 (MEES, 24 May 2024).  (CONTINUED - 920 WORDS)
