TotalEnergies has reduced its position at Abu Dhabi’s Ruwais-Diyab unconventional gas development from 40% to 10%, the firm says in its 2023 Annual Report. The French IOC says that it “reduced its holding to 10% and transferred the role of operator to Adnoc.” Total signed up to develop the block in November 2018, with the partners targeting 1bn cfd by 2030 (MEES, 16 November 2018).

Adnoc had previously drilled three exploration wells at the concession prior to Total’s involvement, to evaluate Diyab’s three sub layers (Hanifa, Jubaila and Tuwaiq Mountain). After acquiring its stake, TotalEnergies then tested the existing exploration wells, before drilling two appraisal wells in 2020 and two more exploration wells in 2021. (CONTINUED - 662 WORDS)
