QatarEnergy has signed a new five-year sales agreement with Shell for the supply of up to 18mn barrels per year (49,000 b/d) of crude oil. Under the 28 December deal QatarEnergy will supply Shell International Eastern Trading Company, Singapore, with volumes of its Qatar Marine and Qatar Land crude export grades from January.

“We are delighted to sign our first ever five-year crude sales agreement,” QatarEnergy CEO Saad Sherida al-Kaabi said of the deal. “This agreement further strengthens QatarEnergy’s relationship with Shell, which is not only a reliable crude oil offtaker, but also a major customer and a strategic partner of QatarEnergy.
