Oman is surging ahead with its green hydrogen ambitions, finally putting in place the regulatory framework and setting ambitious hydrogen production targets. Just a few weeks before Cop 27 opens in Egypt, and only a week after the Sultanate announced net-zero targets for 2050, Minister of Energy and Minerals Salim al-Aufi unveiled Oman’s green hydrogen ambitions. The biggest ambition is a 2050 target of 8.5mn t/y capacity (see chart).
