*Western sanctions on Russian crude exports have seen Moscow ship record volumes to eastern markets. China has cemented its position as Russia’s largest customer with near-record volumes of around 2mn b/d for both August and September. But the biggest gainer has been India.

*From just over 100,000 b/d for 2021, volumes rose fivefold to average 552,000 b/d for the first nine months of 2022. And the gains have continued in recent months. For Q3 Russia supplied a quarterly record 926,000 b/d, just behind Iraq’s 931,000 b/d as India’s top supplier. Saudi Arabia was third with 846,000 b/d (see table). (CONTINUED - 327 WORDS)
