Following the signing of a raft of MoUs to develop green and blue hydrogen (MEES, 3 September), Egypt on 14 September signed an MoU with Japan’s Toyota Tsusho for a feasibility study to examine “the best available opportunities in the oil and gas sector” to “implement projects for extracting and storing carbon dioxide to produce blue ammonia using the latest Japanese technologies,” according to an oil ministry statement. The study is set to be completed within six months.
