Aden’s port has received the first two cargoes of oil products as part of a $422mn Saudi grant to supply fuel to Yemen’s beleaguered internationally recognized government. The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) will supply gasoil and fuel oil worth $422mn to help operate 80 power stations – primarily small privately operated facilities – in the war-torn country.

Yemen’s ministry of electricity says that it will receive 909,591 tons (6.8mn barrels) of gasoil and 351,304 tons (2.4mn barrels) of fuel oil across the summer, when high temperatures cause electricity demand to spike. (CONTINUED - 572 WORDS)
