French major TotalEnergies and Libya’s state power firm Gecol on 22 November signed an MoU to develop 500MW of solar PV projects “to supply electricity to the national grid” across the country.

Total also pledged to use solar energy to power the facilities at the 300,000 b/d-capacity fields of the Waha Oil Company, where Total alongside US firm Conoco is the key foreign partner (MEES, 26 November), as well as to “invest in gas gathering projects to reduce flaring and supply power plants in the region.” (CONTINUED - 368 WORDS)
