As a decent-sized Middle East-based private sector oil and gas firm, Crescent Petroleum is a rarity. It is also something of a regional institution, and the Sharjah-based firm has a long history of working in some key regional fields, including Sharjah’s Mubarak field, which previously supplied gas to Dubai.

Crescent’s portfolio, which CEO Majid Jafar says comes in at 110,000 boe/d operated-capacity, has narrowed in recent years as the firm has focused on its huge operations in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. Crescent and its partners operate the 400mn cfd Khor Mor gas field, which is being doubled in scope over the next three years.
