Qatar, via state firm Qatar Petroleum (QP), made yet another international upstream foray this week, entering another new country to boot.

On 29 July QP announced it is taking 10% from Total in two blocks off Guyana, an exploration hotspot where Exxon and partner Hess have made a string of discoveries and plan production of 750,000 b/d from 2025.
