Norway’s Scatec Solar has started commercial operation of its third 65MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in the Benban Solar Park, being built in the desert 40km north of Aswan in southern Egypt. This brings to 195MW the capacity of PV units Scatec has connected to the grid and begun operating at Benban. Scatec started up its first Benban unit, Scatec Benban I (Aswan), in April and a second unit in early June.

MEES analysis of recent satellite imagery shows that panel installation for both Scatec Benban III (Sun Infinity) and Scatec Benban VI (Philadelphia) was completed in April. These are likely the second and third projects to be brought online (MEES, 7 June). (CONTINUED - 194 WORDS)
