South African and Iran are planning to boost collaboration in the energy sphere following the removal of international sanctions from Iran in January.

Iran’s Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) and South African state oil firm PetroSA have signed an agreement to cooperate in the development of gas-to-liquids (GTL) and crude oil blending technologies. The agreement was signed on 24 April during a visit by South African president Jacob Zuma to Tehran this week. During the visit Iran’s oil minister Bijan Zanganeh also touted a resumption of crude oil sales. (CONTINUED - 532 WORDS)
