Qatar is set to grant Egypt five LNG cargoes starting in July and running until mid-September – just in time for Egypt’s summer power crunch, which forces a severe gas shortage – the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum announced on 11 June.

Since Egypt has not yet developed LNG import infrastructure, Qatar will ship the cargoes to customers of Egypt’s gas producers. Meanwhile, domestic production will be freed up for use in Egypt itself. (CONTINUED - 380 WORDS)
