The statement followed initial assessments by British maritime security firms Ambrey and Vanguard that the FSRU had been struck by a drone. Reuters, citing trading and security sources, likewise reported that the fire began aboard the FSRU before spreading to the adjacent GasLog Salem, which was operating as a floating LNG storage unit.
