Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum expects BP to add around 80mn cfd of production in the “near future” it said on 26 July. This follows completion of the Fayoum North-4 sidetrack well. Fayoum and Giza started up in 2019 and form Phase 2 of the UK major’s West Nile Delta (WND) project, but output has since dwindled.
WND was initially expected to plateau at around 1.5bn cfd before BP revised guidance down to 1bn cfd in 2021. Production is currently less than 250mn cfd and comes largely from the Phase 3 Raven field despite recent infill drilling which had aimed to maintain output at around 400mn cfd (MEES, 7 November 2025).
