Iran has conducted damaging drone attacks on Kuwait’s Mina Abdullah and Mina al-Ahmadi refineries following Israel’s attack on its South Pars gas facilities (see main story). Initial strikes on 19 March caused fires in processing units at the two plants, which have combined capacity of 800,000 b/d. Iran struck again on 20 March, with Kuwait stating that attacks that morning caused a fire in several units at Mina al-Ahmadi.
Kuwait’s armed forces said that on 19 March the country was targeted by 18 drones, of which 13 were downed. Of the remaining five, three fell outside the “threat zone” and two struck the refineries. (CONTINUED - 243 WORDS)
