TotalEnergies has started up a new 30km, 24-inch pipeline connecting its 60,000 b/d Ratawi oilfield to the PS-1 pumping station in North Rumaila. Total is expanding the Ratawi field to 100,000 b/d, and this project will enable it to evacuate more crude from the field. The 5.2mn barrel capacity PS-1 is one of several depots where Iraqi crude is stored before being pumped to export terminals (MEES, 31 October 2025).
Crude oil from Ratawi will finance development of other elements of the Total-led GGIP (Gas Growth Integrated Project: Total 45%op, Basrah Oil 30%, QatarEnergy 25%). Total installed the first 250MW phase of a 1GW solar plant last month (MEES, 23 January) and plans to commission the 50mn cfd ‘ArtawiGas25’ gas plant this quarter. The modular gas processing facility should prevent flaring at Ratawi. (CONTINUED - 128 WORDS)
