Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) announced on 7 August “the commencement of work on Bahrain’s first solar power plant for electricity generation.” The 150MW plant will be Bahrain’s first utility-scale solar facility and will be in the island’s south near Bilaj Al Jazayer.

EWA says it “will be developed in partnership with the private sector.” Starting on 14 August it will “launch a global market sounding” with a tender scheduled for September and commercial operations planned to start in the third quarter of 2027. (CONTINUED - 398 WORDS)
