Senior IRGC ‘advisors’ were killed by a suspected Israeli airstrike on a building inside Iran’s embassy compound in Damascus on 1 April. Tehran said the building housed the ambassador’s residence and the consular section, blaming Israel. As customary, Israel did not respond to Iran’s accusation.

Among the seven dead IRGC officers is Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a high-profile figure who previously commanded the Corps’ air and ground forces.
