Whilst Oman achieved record breaking LNG exports for Q1 (MEES, 7 April), the Sultanate’s oil exports paint another picture. Oman achieved a record high 907,000 b/d oil exports in Q1 in 2022, but MEES calculates that exports averaged a more modest 839,000 b/d for 1Q23 – an 8% year-on-year decline, although this is still higher than the 833,000 b/d achieved the previous quarter. Official government statistics on oil output and exports have only been released up to February, but data intelligence firm Kpler shows that exports fell by 13,000 b/d in March.
