Omani state upstream firm OQ Exploration and Production (OQEP) signed exploration and production sharing agreements (EPSAs) for three exploration blocks in Oman. The firm took 100% positions in Blocks 36, 66, and 43A, where it committed to an initial three-year exploration phase.
The blocks formed the energy ministry’s 2025 bid round, and were being marketed to IOCs by OQEP on behalf of the government. Omani officials had been publicly optimistic about awards, but now OQEP is to develop the blocks alone (MEES, 28 August). (CONTINUED - 121 WORDS)
