Construction is set to begin imminently on the 500MW ‘Red Sea Wind Energy’ (RSWE) wind farm on Egypt’s Gulf of Suez after the completion of key financing for the project. This comes after two additional 500MW renewables projects reached financial close at the end of 2022. All three projects, totaling 1.5GW capacity and $1.7bn investment, are slated for 2025 start up (see table & chart).
