*Spain’s crude imports remain depressed by Covid. Average 1H 2021 imports of 1.074mn b/d were level with 2H 2020 as the lowest half year figure since 2011. Imports have edged up in recent months with the Q2 2021 average of 1.083mn b/d the highest ‘post-Covid’ quarterly figure. But this is still 250,000 b/d (19%) down on 2019 average volumes of 1.33mn b/d.

*The key gainer in the 1H stats was short-haul supplier Libya, as the north African country posted eight-year high output of 1.20mn b/d (MEES, 20 August and MEES, 6 August).
