Oman has unveiled further details for its 2021 licensing round, which is now open as of 8 August (MEES, 23 July). Bidders have until 30 November to submit offers for the three blocks on offer. Oman adds that its “numerous” open blocks “will be tendered over the next few years.”

Of the 2021 round, the Ministry of Energy & Minerals (MoEM) says that “the blocks on offer are all located in the prolific hydrocarbon provinces,” as it seeks to drum up interest. The two onshore blocks have been unsuccessfully explored in the past by prior operators, but technological advances may have opened up new resources. (CONTINUED - 615 WORDS)
