Algeria gas supplies via Morocco to Spain through the 11.5bcm/y Gaz Maghreb Europe (GME) pipeline continued full steam ahead in September, delivering 0.62bcm (730mn cfd). But with only one month remaining before the 31 October expiry of the current contract regulating flows, Algiers and Rabat have yet to strike a deal for its continued use.

Worsening relations have cast further doubt on any potential renewal. Algeria cut diplomatic ties with Morocco in August citing a string of grievances (MEES, 27 August).
