Japan’s Marubeni and China’s JinkoSolar, recently selected by Abu Dhabi utility Adwea to develop the world’s largest solar photovoltaic (PV) project 120km east of Abu Dhabi city at Sweihan, have awarded a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the plant to India’s Sterling and Wilson.

While the value of the EPC contract has not been announced, the development of the 1.18GW capacity Sweihan project is expected to cost a total $3.2bn. Marubeni says construction is scheduled for completion in April 2019. Once completed, Sterling and Wilson will operate and maintain the 7.8km2 plant. (CONTINUED - 290 WORDS)
