Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) plans to double oil production as soon as a unity government is in place, according to Mustafa Sanalla, head of NOC’s dominant Tripoli-based arm.

In an interview with MEES in the margins of the 17th International Oil Summit in Paris on 21 April, Mr Sanalla says that an attempt by Tripoli’s NOC to load a cargo at Ras Lanuf on 11 April was thwarted by the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG), which in theory is under the control of NOC but in practice is closer to Libya’s rival administration in the eastern coastal town of Baida.
