Speaking to the local press on 5 February, an official at the Port of Duqm Company (PDC) which operates and manages the port, said the tender for the new oil terminal at the Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZ) would be floated before the end of the year, and that they hope for it to be operational by 2017.

“We are now working on the formalities relating to the design and construction of the oil terminal that will be used primarily for the supply of crude to the planned refinery. Our objective is to have the terminal up and running in 2017, in parallel with the targeted launch of the refinery project,” PDC Commercial Director Reggy Vermeulen was quoted as saying by the Oman Observer. “We are now working with our partners to prepare the tendering of the liquid terminal.” (CONTINUED - 710 WORDS)
