Egypt, Cyprus and Greece have called for the rapid completion of plans to connect Cypriot gas fields to Egyptian infrastructure, with the upcoming Cronos and Aphrodite developments at the heart of deepening energy ties.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi hosted Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for an informal trilateral summit at El Alamein on 8 September, where the three leaders described energy security as a “key pillar” of their cooperation.
