Saudi Arabia’s wholesale power sector transformation is gathering pace and is a key component of the kingdom’s Vision 2030 program. Through institutional reform, large-scale renewable deployment, grid modernization and battery storage investment, the kingdom is emerging as a globally consequential energy-transition market.
Installed renewable energy capacity now stands at 17.8GW following the recent grid connection of the 400MW Tabarjal, 2GW Haden and 2GW Al Muwayih solar PV plants, together with the 500MW Waad Al Shamal and 600MW Al Ghat wind farms. (CONTINUED - 3347 WORDS)
