The operator of the Garmian block in the Kurdistan Region changed its name from Gazprom Neft Middle East B.V., to Garmian Petroleum B.V. on 6 June, reflecting recent changes in its ownership. It was previously owned by Russia’s Gazprom Neft, but the company last year divested its holdings and transferred the company to another Gazprom group company – Gazprom Middle East LLC.

Garmian Petroleum holds a 60% stake in the Garmian license alongside US-owned, Canadian company WesternZagros (40%). Prior to the 2023-25 Iraq-Turkey Pipeline closure ,output was around 30,000 b/d, but volumes have sincefallen below 8,000 b/d (MEES, 10 April). (CONTINUED - 98 WORDS)
