Two US-sanctioned tankers have been idling near Iraq’s offshore terminals for over a week while signaling intent to load cargoes. Both vessels crossed the Strait of Hormuz on 14 April despite a US blockade on Iran-linked shipping.
Kpler shows the Alicia, a VLCC previously called Montrose and sanctioned by the US Treasury in March 2025 for trading Iranian oil, signaling to load 2mn barrels of crude from Basra.
